Amish Tripathi, the best Indian author, famous for his contemporary fiction writings. He is one of the personalities who proved it practically that success is not all about professional background and higher approaches. However, it is made with courage, clear vision, goal-orientation, and hard work. Today got a new name as “Literary Popstar”
Mr. Tripathi was born on 18th of October 1974 in a middle-class family of Mumbai. He grew up with religious talks of his family, especially his grandfather, who was a Pandit as well as a teacher at Banaras Hindu University. Since childhood, he was interested in history, philosophy and mythological fiction.
After completion of graduation in science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, he went to pursue masters from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM – C). Soon after completion of studies, he started the career as a banker, by keeping aside all his interests in mythology and only looking forward at financial goals of the family. Amish worked for many financial companies like Standard Chartered, DBS Bank, and IDBI Federal Life Insurance.
Amish Tripathi is married to a well-known business marketer, Preeti Vyas. Both are never stuck in any of the media controversies that are why a little information is known about their life. However, the available source suggests that she is behind him like a backbone to his author career.
After 14 years of a banking career, he gave it up and given chance to his passion writing. Restarted with a review over the Hindu mythology to which he was very much familiar. By 2004, he started up penning the versions of Puranas which carried out till the last of 2010 and finally named as “The Immortals of Meluha”.
Thanking the Almighty God, he was happy, overwhelmed and excited to publish his first book. Knocked the door of almost every publication, but ended up with shit.
“After being rejected by over 20 publishers, I had stopped counting the doors on which to knock. Eventually, I published the book along with my agent. Fortunately, this book became the fastest selling in Indian publishing history. As writing is a high risk, high gain process, I do not blame the publishers for not choosing to back my work”, he explained his startup to media.
The Immortals of Mehula is the first novel of Shiva Trilogy, the second book of this series is The Secret of the Nagas, which was released in August of 2011, followed by the third, The Oath of the Vayuputras in February 2013. This book series was the fastest selling book series in Indian publishing history.
The second book series named “Ram Chandra” started with the release of the first novel Scion Of Ikshvaku, the book won for him the prize for the best popular book in 2015. On 29 May 2017, Mr. Tripathi announced the release of the second book of this sequel named as Sita Warriors of Mithila. Fortunately, it ranked on the top of the national bestselling list of 2017.
Amish Tripathi also writes non-fiction as well, launched Immortal India in August 2017 and announced the title for the other as Suheldev & The Battle Of Bahraich.
Most of his books are available in their translated version in languages like Hindi Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, Malayalam, Portuguese, French, Odia, Polish, Kannada, Indonesian, Spanish, Assamese, Marathi, Estonian and Czech.
The swift and huge success of Amish Tripathi is all credited to his knowledge and interest in Hindu methodology and more is his courage to change his profession and hard work. As although he was working well with his banking sector, but he left it for writing. Moreover, managed with troubles in the publishing industry, only a self-motivated person can do this.
Recently, he has been declared as one of the top 100 celebrities in India and also the “India’s New Icon”. Furthermore, to honor his great contribution he is also been awarded “Society Young Achievers Award for literature”.
